Hello I am trying to back up one of my DVD's. Anyway used DVD Decrypter and saved it. I selected the .mds file and all but the "write" button won't light up.

It says : Device not ready (Medium not Present)

There is a blank CD+R in the drive so I don't know what to do????

I hope you mean a DVD+R disk, as you cannot use a CD disk to backup.

How big is your file, is it below the 4.3gb limit for backing up an iso file. If not you need to use DVD Shrink to compress and encode it to fit the disk.

Possibly your firmware needs updated for your dvd-rw drive.
Could also be your burner does not support the plus format.
The third possibility is you have too much data to fit on a standard dvd-5 blank and dvd decrypter is calling for a dual layer blank disc to be used.

What brand name and model# is your dvd burner?
What is the brand name and the speed rate of those blank dvd+r discs?
What are you trying to backup?
What programs you are using for this process, besides dvd decrypter-if any?

Can you also describe how you are trying to backup this dvd?

Yeah, I'm an idiot. I had to use DVD Shrink.

But hey, I got a new problem. Big problem IMO.
I don't think that this is the right forum for this type of thing so if not and I can't get help here no problem.
My DVD-ROM will not read any discs. My DVD/CD-RW will however.

One thing strange, maybe has nothing to so with the problem though is that I have the Alcohol 120 program trial version and I guess it has expired. So even when I would open up "my computer" and click on "local disk c" or anything, this pop up would come on and say that the trial version was expired and do I want to buy their program. Sometimes it would come up like 10 times in a row. Weird to me that it would come up in a location like that.

But my problem is that I can't use the drive at all.
