help please with eurovox 1/2

hi all can anyone tell me the difference between eurovox1 and eurovox 2 models. my friend has asked me to update his but the ones i have done have been eurovox max and can you tell me where the updates are for this model many thanks in advance

 

my info is eurovox 1 has one scart socket.eurovox 2 has 2 scart sockets.

 

thanks for that info, have ended up buying item on ebay now due to total lack of response or help in finding software update, once again i have hit a brick wall when asking for help on this site.

I have the same problem with forums. most people on these sites are very knowledgeble and presume that people can follow their solutions. However I would be like to be treated as a numpty, and everything should be explained in plain English with step by step instruction, that is how we with less knowledge of the subject learn.

 

thanks for taking the time out to reply onedibs you are spot on.i have sorted the problem now but dont like paying out to these prats on ebay who gather the knowledge off these sites then charge for the priveledge.
while it does get boring repeating your self if i have any knowledge i prefare to share it openly for free.

Here is some info and I hope it helps solve your query

Look down at the box from above and note where the rf in connection is, looking through the grill on the box above this is a silver tuner, a 2007 model will only measure 8 slots of the grill and a 2006 will measure 11.

8 = RED
11 = BLUE

You will also need to know if its a clone or genuine b0x

You can go here and compare with the pics

Also : If you look into the grills on the top of the b0x and see a ribbon cable it is a genuine b0x.

If you see a load of individual white cables it is a clone

 

thanks for your help i will keeep that for future reference,its very good, but the info is for eurovox max boxes not the old 2005 ver 1 and 2 . i have been told now that one scart on back is ver1 and two scarts ver 2 these two are the old original eurovox before the max model came out.

 

after gleaning a lot of info from this and other sites, I have just flashed my eurovox 2 successfully. have you sorted yours out yet.----- Now your nickname billywiz-------my cousin keith used this nickname---are you he. if so this is your cousin dave.

Hi. signed up to BigMaq toolbar( at no cost). available from google search.
this posts codes, plus firmware for eurovox 2. silver box with 2 scarts. obtained from e-bay. 232 cable 9 pin male to usb. plus and this is important a 9 pin female to 9 pin female null modem cable.
extracted the posted winrar file to a folder. you get a cd for the usb cable extract the driver. connect to null cable attached to eurovox. run the dnupman cable file . switch the eurovox on, and run the firmware the cable will find the box and will update it. Job done and it works. if not ready to upgrade the firmware then put codes in, get daily codes from bigmaq. press menu on eurovov. go to prefered language. when you see english. press 1968 twice on your remote. a load of stuff will come up, move right on the remote.until telewest 5a 01 comes up scroll down and input the new codes. when done press exit, the codes will be saved. then you may be ok for a couple of days. Hope this helps
