i was a jackass today afternoon. I tried helping someone out because he screwed up his xbox and in turn got mine more screwy than his. I unlocked my hdd and now can't get back in. I have the AUF softmod installed and i have friends who have modchips. Is there any way i can just give them my hdd and my hdd key and they could lock it back up for me? I also tried connecting the hdd to my comp because it is unlocked but my comp won't detect it. Any and all help would be most appreciated

As long as you just unlocked your hard drive, then you need a chip on your motherboard to relock it. Your softmod will not boot with an unlocked hard drive.

If you know your hard drive key you can relock it from a linux distro and a computer. Xbox HDM works fine, but make sure you know what you type in because if you have a typo, the drive is locked to a 25 digit key that you dont know...(been there)

The problem is that my computer's BIOS doesn't detect the hdd.

The xbox hard drive is just a computer hard drive...unless your computer is really old, you should be able to see it. The other possibility is that your hard drive is locked to neither the xbox or computer. In that case neither one would be able to use it untill it was unlocked and relocked specifically to the xbox/computer.

Get xbox hdm and make the xbox hard drive master on the primary ide. If hdm gives a long list of access errors, then hard drive is still locked.
