I'm afraid, but you still have not changed/convert your system from FAT32 into NTFS yet. Thus, DVD Decrypter is giving you the above error.

    Again, here it is:

To convert FAT32 to NTFS from the command prompt:

    1. Open Command Prompt. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.

    2. In the command prompt window, type: convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format. You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.

So, really once you're at "command prompt", type this; convert D: /fs:ntfs (and now hit Enter, it will convert your system for you).

I did that and it came up with:
Conversion from FAT32 volume to NTSC volume is not avaliable

:-( can I do anything else now??

Did you type NTSC or NTFS? Command prompt or CMD won't recognize NTSC, that's a DVD format only. You need to type exactly NTFS or like this: convert D: /fs:ntfs

It should work, I convert my nephew and my brother's FAT32 system into NTFS and they all works. So, I don't really know why you're having problem.

Which drive is she trying to convert? Does she have two internal drives?

    Is drive D the burner?

Ok Copied and pasted what you said and this time came up:
The type of file system is FAT32.
Enter current volume label for drive D:

    What next??

Sabledown, be patient. I was hoping that Alkohol would drop back in and we could pick brains together.

I don't know why you would have to convert a DVD RW drive to a ntfs. It should just recognize the media.

Did you check to see if your firmware was up to date?

What is the make and firmware version of your drive. You can tell if you open DVDdecrypter in Mode Write ISO. It will tell you the drive and firmware version in the upper right pane. See below image of mine:

Post back with your drive and firmware version.

    Cheers.

Had a look on decrypter mode as you suggested and got this:

HP DVD Writer 640b E152 (ATA)
    Current Profile: DVD-ROM

I did look up that site but could not find a version for 640b?

    Hey ruger,
I haven’t done any of this stuff since my days with a 5 1/4” Floppy but here’s some input that may trigger one of the great minds into action…

    [bold]
    [/bold]

Drive D: is the burner.. How did it get set for FAT32?
FAT32 only handles files less than 4GB.

This is an ISO file that is:

    [bold]
    Much larger..

Shrink has the ability to break up files into 1GB chunks,, But then you couldn’t burn with Decrypter. Would have to use Nero or whatever.

That would only treat the symptoms and not be a cure but think on it Guys….

There’s too many YoungGeeks out there to let this stump all of them……… ;-p

By the way, the Firmware looks up-to-date, as far as I can tell...

    @Sabeldown

So what is your hard drive then? Is it C? Since you said D is your your dvd burner drive, so what is your main hard drive? If C is your main hard drive, then do the following:

    1. Open Command Prompt. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.

    2. In the command prompt window, type the following: convert C: /fs:ntfs

Let it runs, and after a while your C: drive or hard drive will be NTFS now.

    @9mm

As far as I know if you have a FAT32 system, then DVD Decrypter will NOT support any movie that's over 4GB, therefore DVD Decrypter is giving Sabel this message: W 13:07:18 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB

I didn't make it clear because I thought that "D" is Sabeldown's main hard drive. My mistake, but again, Sabel still need to convert from FAT32 to NTFS in order for him/her to have a success in the future when using DVD Decrypter.

Now, it seems like Sabeldown is trying to write/burn into her/his HP dvd burner, which is E: drive.
And the "source" is from: I 13:07:18 Source File: C:\DVD WORK\DIRTY DANCING\DVD.ISO -- so this make it a C: drive (this probably is the hard drive), and it needs to "convert" to NTFS.

But why is the error here: W 13:07:18 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB -- therefore, I was confused earlier. Now, either C or D or both needs to convert into NTFS for better ripping and burning when using DVD Decrypter.

    Good luck!!!

This is what the log says this time

    @ Sabeldown,
Don’t give up gal, bear with us……..

Go to: Start -> My Computer then right click on the C: drive icon then -> properties
What does it show under File System: ??

If it says anything except NTFS then proceed:

Go to Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> Control prompt and type in: C: /fs:ntfs

Set back and let it do it’s thing…….

Post back what the outcome is and we’ll go from there…..

    Hang in there, you’ll burn a disk….
Just bear with us. It's very difficult working from this end, when you can't see what's going on...

    @2oldGeek

This is what I told her to do/convert already, at command promp, type: convert C: /fs:ntfs and hit Enter to run.

And she's still having problem with the D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4GB?? Something is not right here.

Does she have 2 hard drives that's FAT32 (C & D)? ie one internal & external? Because I know that her burner is HP from E: drive, according to her log here: I 13:07:18 Destination Device: [0:0:0] HP DVD Writer 640b E152 (E:) (ATA)
