I use DVD Shrink to burn and while trying to burn the movie "Rent" the program stop working properly. The funny thing is that a colleague of mine had the same problem and he also cannot burn anymore. Your latest firmware is 4.24 or it's 203D if it's Dell, here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1920 Your burner can't recognize the media you're using, so a firmware update is needed. See above reply. What type of media you're using? Sounds like your burner doesn't like it or it's not compatible. Try 1st class media: Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Hitachi Maxell (made in japan). I think your burner is going down the hill, meaning it's slowly breaking. Check all your cables, reset them if necessary. Best of luck!!
Thanks alkohol, problem solved. I was trying to burn with TDK DVD+R and couldnt. I had some Maxell and worked perfectly. I am still worried about my burner "going down the hill" I am using a Siemens Notebook bought two years ago... should I get a new one or just buy a new burner? Thanks again!! Fac
