    I have just created a "limited account" on my Windows XP in the interests of security, up until now I have been using admin account.
    Now when I start up and load the new account, I get a message automatically pop up in the "notepad" app, titled "Desktop" saying:
    "[.ShellClassInfo]
    LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787"
    which I just exit out of.
    Why does this appear, and how am I able to stop it? Could it be something to do with the fact I am bypassing the password login stage at startup, automatically loggin on to this account?
    Thanks for any help!!

    Try a registry repair program such as RegSeeker.

    try ccleaner, download it and insatll then click on start up and delete the things you don't want and hopefully your message should be there inwhich case you just delete it then if you want to clean your registers and your computer.(clcik on 'issues' for registery and cleaner for the computer and tools for the startup). hope this helped you!

    I seem to have fixed it - somehow the "desktop" configuration settings had been added to the startup folder - All I did was delete this item from the folder and presto - no more hassles!
