Well, I have burned numerous G04's at 4X, now all of a sudden my burner only burns at 1x. I have tried to enable DMA but system will not budge from PIO mode ? SETUP: Primary Master= hardrive, Primary Slave= hardrive, Secondary Master= Plextor 708A, Secondary Slave= DVD-ROM My setup in my BIOS only allows for AUTO or OFF settings for IDE P4 1.8ghz 512 ram I have loaded the ForceASPI drivers, and still 1X...what gives the drive was burning just fine until recently
Try uninstalling the drive through Device Manager, reboot, then let Windows detect and install the drive.
Well, after playing around with the bios and IDE settings, I decided to go back to an older firmware 1.04 and then loaded 1.06 back on and it worked (or something did) back to Ultra DMA2 mode and burning at 4x
