    Hi guys
I was "fixing" an xbox with my reflow station and when i did the pre heat The temp sensor for the board was way different from the one thats with the lamp, the pre heat said 70s and the other said 90s on the chip
so i think that the board got to 100s temps are in C. i heard a little pop sound when it was doing the reflow maybe the board was 2hot for the reflow. So i got 0021 after all that then i did a reflow with the heat gun and now i got 0031 (Unknown: could be caused by a short between the heatsink and surrounding capacitors) some ppl say that the sink is touching a resistor ect but i turn it on w/out any sink and got the 0031 error anyways. I have a elenco m-1700 multimeter but idk how to use it on resistor or on a xbox, anyone know how to do it or any idea on how to fix the problem please

I did more testing and now i get 0020 with heat sinks but no screws lol and no sinks i get 0031

Does sound like you have popped a resistor. The resitors on the xbox look like this

You will need to put your multimeter on each side of the resistor then take the resistance reading. TBH if you have popped a resistor, it will not even have continuity so regardless of the resistance setting you should be able to tell which one has popped.

There is also the possibility that you have blow a capacitor, check to see if there is any browning or leakage from the top of them to confirm.

You right, a few say 0 on the multimeter. I end up selling the xbox for parts anyways lol. so to fix it i would had to take from another xbox and put it on? those are small lol
