    Details:

I left my computer on and went to watch a tv program. Returned about 30 mins later and the computer was off. I pressed the power button and nothing, No power,no fan no noise and no LED's.

I tested the fuse in the power lead plug I tested the power lead. I bought a new power supply and changed it over but the computer still gives me nothing.

I have checked all the plugs inside the computer and they look ok.

I was wondering if the problem could be the 3v flat round battery on the motherboard? im buying a new one later to see if thats the problem.

If anyone knows of any further things I can try or know what the problem could be please give us a shout on here cos if the battery doesnt work im stumped on what the problem could be.

The computer is only a year old.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

One of my PCs died recently. It was just like your case. The problem was a mother-board faliure and I had to replace my it.

What about the guarantee, if it's still on, the best option would be calling tech-support...

as SameeMan said if still under warranty than take it back. if not than try this to isolate the problem. disconnect all cables to drives. remove all cards & ram except videocard & 1 stick of ram. reseat those 2. reseat motherboard power connector(s). look at the can shaped objects that are capacitors to see if flat topped not domed. the onboard battery won't cause that problem.
