help!!! ps2 makes a clicking sound!!!!

    i have a v7 ps2 with a duo2 chip on it.... it used to read all of my games backup or original but now it only reads half of the games that i have.... everytime i boot some of the games it makes a clicking and a grinding noise and then it never boots the game... i tried cleaning the laser but it still makes the same noise..... any help would be great!!!

    the v7 protection is returning resolder the chip

    if the protection is returning, why would it read some of my back up games?
