help putting in a new dvd rw

    i am trying to put in a new dvd rw i have a cd rw and a dvd player which one do i take out to put the new one in help

    hi there...

    If I were you I'd take away the cd-rw and leave the dvd reader.

    One thing you'll have to be aware of is which one you'll leave as secondary master and secondary slave.

    I suggest you keep your dvd-rom as secondary [bold]slave[/bold] and mount your new dvd-rw as secondary [bold]master[/bold].

    To do this you have only to switch the proper jumper at the back of your unit. Please refer to your dvd manual for further instructions about how to do this if you're not 100% sure. But it's darn easy :eek:)

    Can the cd drive, you can still burn cd's with the dvd rw drive, but having a dvd rom and dvd rw allow you to back up your dvds in record time.
