hi, i am a newbie, i have bought a this SONY DRU-720A dvd writer and here is a problem i ran into: i updated my existing nero with the vendor provided nero. i then wanted to test the dvd writing. so i put a samsung dvd-r into drive and selected some 4479Mb stuff the i wrote a data dvd. Then i reinserted the dvd for seeing whether it is ok. the following error appeared. please help. i have also tested some CD-R stuff inserting in the dvd-R/W drive and they worked perfectly fine. i have even tried writing CD-R using this dvd writer. they worked fine. i tried googling the problem and saw that updating aspi and firmware can solve the problem. i updated aspi and firmware but still the proble persists. now a strange is happening, the drive is not detecting my blank samsumg dvd's. it say that "no disk is inserted". please help me to solve the problem. however, the drive is reading other dvd's.
hi did you manage to fit this on a dvdr? ***selected some 4479Mb **** as its only 4.36gig on a 4.7 discs! also not all writers can see every dvdr you put in drive!!! so you updated your firmware and it wont see samsung anymore? try going back a firmware but, i woudld buy good discs like ritek or tyho yuden!
google sony drive support. There will be a list of media they reccomend samsung is not on the list. Verbatum,Tiyo Yuden,Maxell,TDK are on the list. So basiclly anything you use that they have not tested your on your own. Rotary is right could be as simple as your file size. Good Luck Spacedsut
