Had comflicts, could not use MSN Messenger, went to remove windows Messenger. Re-started computer, message displayed "windows\system32\config file missing, press 'r'"
Restarted and entered Set-up pressing 'r', went to repair, only allowed 1 digit entry (don't no command format), installed new XP on D:drive, started and ran on D, acessed C:drive and copied personal pictures not backed up, Disk Management- cannot format C:drive, shutdown and entered Set-up, Installed new XP off CD on C:drive (with format option), ran on C:drive, Disk Management- formatted D,E. Restart gives two XP options, 2nd option goes to original (missing file) message. Problem can't update, tried service pack 2 update- error corrupt system. need to remove 2nd XP on same C:drive.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions, fairly new at this!
