Hi all, I have a problem what i did was i backed up my old 160gb harddrive's partitions over to a new 500gb hdd now the problem is that i have ubuntu 9.10 and windows vista dual booting and i am trying to give windows and ubuntu more room but i cant seem to do it does anyone have any idea on how i can do this?
One program(free) I've been using to resize partitions is easus 5.1. So far I used it on three different hard drives, all where successful but I have only used it on XP, but it can also be used on vista/seven. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=264942
Another program that can work for you is GParted. Open source as well so it can be used on both Windows and Linux.
GParted is great, just make sure you're using a version that won't cause corruption ~ http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?p=962662 edit- and re-reading that link i just posted reminded me that my olde worlde version of Partition Magic still works a treat on modern systems/modern hard drives
