Hi, I am undecided about some recent events that are taking place. My Sony KDF55E2000 started having the optical block issue they seem to been having.

Sony is offering to fix it free of charge or offering me 2 different tv's at what seems to be a fabulous price.

I have a few questions and was wondering what some of you members would decide.

    1) Get my KDF55E20000 fixed free of charge.
    2) Get a 52" KDL-52V4100 for 550.00
    3) Get a 52" KDL-52W4100 for 750.00

The main difference between the 2 KDL's is one is 64 hz and one is 120 hz.

I was thinking of getting a new tv soon anyway and was mainly looking at a Samsung LN46A650 46" but at a fraction of the cost i can get one of the Sony's. " Is one of the Sony's worth it in the long run for the price? ".

Also if i decide to go with one of the Sony's, is the 120Hz really worth the extra cost?

    Thanks for any input!

You should go see it in person. It's basically an attempt to deal with LCD's inherent problem with fast motion. It does in fact smooth the action, with sports it looks nice. Unfortunately for movies the effect can be unnatural for those who prefer a film like image, as it gives them a shot-on-video look.
