I have a DVD and I would like to cut bits out and including sound edit the DVD. What is a good beginners freeware to use? Mike
For cutting you can use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode, but you will loose menus. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm If you want to add a new audio track to a DVD movie, you will have to reauthor DVD. One software come in mind is Mpeg Video Wizard DVD (not free), where you can add an extra track.
DVD Shrink works if you want to cut off a chunk from either ends of the movie, not inside. You could do it in more steps, cut, join, cut, join, but that's a pain. Read through this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/144851
