so i have a dvd movie on my computer that exists in multiple files, i was to turn these files into a media file so i can immediately play the movie after clicking the file. im not too sure how to do this so if anyone could help me solve my problem it would be very helpful to me.
Is this a DVD you ripped to your computer consisting of ifos, vobs and bups or a a file of rars- 01, 02 etc. Something like VobMerge should work for the vobs in the first, Winrar to extract the second: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/winrar_guide.cfm
If you don't care about space, you can merge the vob files like suggested. If space becomes an issue, you can convert the ripped DVD to an AVI file using a free software like AutoGK . A guide is available here on Afterdawn.
In your file are 3,4,or 5 vobs that contain the main movie. Their size will be .99 G except for the last- they will be 2.0, 2.1, 2.3 etc or similar. I use Vobmerge to join (just) them, only takes a few minutes. Don't know about Vista and keep the order correct. You could use something like AutoGK to make a smaller file (avi) but the time increase is significant.
