Hi Guys I have the 'Onn' LEDSTB0705 Digital Tv recorder from Asda. Can anyone tell me if you can transfer recording on to a dvd recorder (Toshiba D-R250) Many thanks
Hi Just getting round to archiving some programmes I can't live without, but having some trouble. First, I thought I could do it by connecting my laptop, but no way I can connect. Secondly I bought a cheap DVD recorder, but not sure that is working. I am currently trying it out, but since the DVD player does not pick up the TV channels, not holding out much hope. I connected the aerial to the Onn then the SCART to the TV, but when I try to connect a VCR or the DVD it just does not like it. Without them, I can't fault this thing. So any help would be gratefully received.
Hi To enable me to help I need more info. 1.What are the archive programs on at present that you want to save/record? Do you mean you want to record from the TV? 2. Whats the Onn? jbvid
Hi The Onn is a digital TV recorder - LEDSTB0705 that I bought from ASDA last year. The programmes are recorded episodes of different programmes that I want to save to a DVD so I can free up disc space. Just tried to record something earlier, but does not seem to have worked. Just get the error message that in input on AV. I can playback a bought DVD. Starting to think this is never going to work! L
Sorry, just saw part two of your message. 2 SCART sockets. 1 is the TV lead the other to VCR or DVD. If I want to playback a DVD it has to be connected from the ONN to the TV SCART socket on the DVD player, but should it be the external one??
More info: SCART from Onn into TV socket of DVD recorder. If into to EXT then it does not work. Onn needs to be on standby to playback a DVD (bought) otherwise the Onn TV channel taked presedence. If I archive a programme recorded on the ONN then there is nothing on the DVD. I'm usually better at this sort of thing, but frankly I am stumped. L
Sorry about this folks, but I think I have it sorted, need to wait until finished recording to find out, but I changed the leads. The Onn now only has one lead in apart from the aerials. It goes to the DVD player. The DVD player connects by SCART to the TV. Still have to have the Onn on standby to watch a DVD but I can live with that. Not sure if I can tape directly from TV yet if you know a better way, please help Bye for now L
Hi If you want to make a DVD copy from your Onn you MUST have a scart lead out from your Onn to the input of a DVR Recorder. Then to record press play on the Onn and record on the DVD Recorder, the only extra scart lead you need is to your TV to enable you to see what you are recording. This has to come from a second output scart socket either from the Onn or the DVD Recorder. jbvid
