Yes It is Possible as long as your MiniDV Cam has Analogue audio and Video Inputs....
You would need a Cable Box or you can use a VCR to tune in the Chanells and then you output from the Cable Box/VCR to the Analogue Inputs on your CamCorder and then you Have your Camera Hooked up to your PC VIA the Firewire Input and then you would use your DV Capture Program to record the TV into DV AVI format on your PC, Pretty Much the same way you normally Transfer Video from your Camcorder to your PC accept you will be useing the Analogue/DV Passthrough as the Video source...There should be Information on Transfering Analogue Material to your PC Via your Camcorders analogue inputs....
    Cheers

    Hi

Did you get this to work?

I have a Sony Digital-8 camera. When I try to record from my video recorder using the sony's scart adapter and 3 plug to one plug connector (RCA?) it just records a grey image.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    David
