Hello new user with a major problem. I've been browsing the board for days so far no suggestion has solved my problem. I have a large number of .avi files of a friends band that I want to burn to dvd for him as a birthday gift. I used nero Vision first because of the ability to create unique menus. The disc either could not be read by my Sansui DVD/VCR combo or froze at different times in a bargin dvd player. When this did not work I swithed to avitoDVD with the same results, then to DVDFlick which I thought had worked until viewing the entire dvd. I have even tried converting to DVD formates (.VOB, .INFO & .BUP) using SUPER to no avail. I usually use Maxell 16x DVD + R disc and have tried to reducing burning speed as suggested to 8x, 4x, and 2x. I have also made sure all unimportant process were stopped during burning. I don't understand why these disc don't register any errors durning the burn but can not play in a standard dvd player, but works fine in the computer. Now for the kicker my burner is a Khypermedia or Cyberdrive I don't know much more about it other than its maximum write speed is 16x and that it is dvd+ RW compliant. I have used it to create backups of standard dvds many times. I know that my problem is old hat on this board but I could really use some help. Thank You!

I assume you are in North America - so are you creating an NTSC DVD?

Yes, I'm creating a NTSC DVDs, but I've even tried the discs in a region free player, so its not a region problem.
