Been having a bit of trouble getting me head round this. Now first off, I understand S64 is actually 3 emulators in one, correct? Well is there any difference between the 3? Do some ROMS work better on one than on others or does it really not matter which you use to load it?

Secondly, and most irritatingly is that I have a few roms that I copied onto my XBox. If I create a subfolder for say Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and copy all my ROM files for the game into it, It is not found by Surreal 64. This is using the path

    E:/emulators/n64/roms/Mortal Kombat Trilogy

Or whatever the default "ROM" folder is. So I figured "OK, maybe it doesn't like to browse subfolders and wants ALL the rom files and ONLY the rom files dumped into the "ROMS" directory, so I delete the MK subfolder, and copy all my files into the default rom folder directly.

This time, I have a degree of success. It DOES show the game being present. However it shows about 5 copies, 3 of which are grey with the "No Box Art" message displayed. Of these 5 copies only one which actually load the game. I have this issue with every ROM I have tried to install, so for every game you have to go through anywhere from 3 to 9 different versions to find the one that actually loads the game.

The files I have copied are the following (and all are in the roms directory, no sub folders):

    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [t1] (Hit Anywhere).v64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [t2] (All Attacks Hurt P1).v64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [t3] (All Attacks Hurt P2).v64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [t4] (Hyper Mode).v64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [t5] (2x Aggressor).v64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [t6] (P1 Invincible).v64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [!].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [b1].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [o1].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [t1] (Hit Anywhere).z64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [t2] (All Attacks Hurt P1).z64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [t3] (All Attacks Hurt P2).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [t4] (Hyper Mode).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [t5] (2x Aggressor).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (E) [t6] (P1 Invincible).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [!].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [b1].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [b2].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [b3].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [o1].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [o1][h1C].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [o1][h2C].z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [t1] (Hit Anywhere).z64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [t2] (All Attacks Hurt P1).z64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [t3] (All Attacks Hurt P2).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [t4] (Hyper Mode).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [t5] (2x Aggressor).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.0) [t6] (P1 Invincible).z64
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy (U) (V1.2) [!].z64

And of course the archive Mortal Kombat Trilogy.7z which I extract them from. What I wanted to know was, of those files which ones do I need to copy over. If we forget all the Hit Anywhere, Hyper Mode, All Attacks Hurt, all that rubbish and say I just want the original game as it was on there:

    1. Which files do I need to copy?
    2. Is there a way of making it so that there is only ONE image for the game shown in my ROM list?

Besides that the other issue is I reconfigured my pad to the same layout as and N64 control - I use black and white as A and B, A,B,X and Y for the 4 yellow arrow buttons etc, but after setting say Y to "up arrow", in the game it will say to press the up arrow for a certain move. Knowing I configured Y as the up arrow I press it, nothing happens. All you can do is the 2 punches, regardless of how you try to set it out.

Any help greatly appreciated as it's driving me insane now!!!!

Just delete all the extra versions using either a file manager on the Xbox or an FTP client on your PC. Just keep one version, and you should be fine...

Don't know what to tell you as far as controls are concerned. Never really messed with Surreal64 after I found out none of the games I wanted to play worked on it.

Ok thanks. So each of those files is a Standalone ROM that will work on any of the 3 emus?
