I've just copied my first DVD using the afterdawn notes and bought Nero 5.5 to burn the VCD. All works as described BUT I can't get the VCD to play on my Sony DVD player - its only about 6 months old and plays other VCDs that I've got. The mpeg plays ok on the pc so i've got that far without probs. Any thoughts anyone?
try burning @ a max speed of x4 as some standalones have trouble reading vcd's burned faster. Is it possible the disc you copied from has been burned at a higher speed than x4 and has had a knock-on effect
I have same problem but when i ask some friend i got the answer (whit best regards to SETARIP-digital video overlord) "The Sony standalone DVD players are probably the MOST finicky of all brands/models (one of my DVD players is a Sony) regarding which brands of CD-Rs it will recognize. In addition to virtually ANY brand of R/W CDs. it WILL accept Princo (as both a brand and a custom manufacturer, in which case you have to look for "PRINCO" printed around the hub), Prime Peripherals, and ArtMedia - and that's about it!" i use Princo and all is OK )
