get a scart lead and connect it from your output scart port to the input port on your video (the input and output thing is not required but i would recommend it). Use your vcr to switch to your scart channels (you'll find it eventually). Now just put in a blank vhs and press record. For a pc dvd player you need to get a tv card for your computer. You can then connect your computer to your vcr. I have never tried this so I dunno what software you will be using, i would imagine that any software dvd player would be fine.
