Re: Lite-on from Best Buy. Can someone please help me get this thing hooked up correctly? I am a beginner so go slow, please. I have a DVR/Directv receiver that I am hooking this to. I also have a regular DVD player & VCR hooked to the DVR/Directv receiver and I would like to keep those hooked up. I want to record shows to DVD that are on my DVR now. I hooked up according to instruction sheet and it doesn't work. I can get it to play a DVD but I can't see what is playing on my DVR so I can burn it. I have it like this now- RF cable on from DVR to in on DVD recorder then the red,yellow,white cable out from DVD recorder to in on TV. This set-up is what is show on the quick start paper that came with it. In the manuel, it shows it hooked up with just 2 RF cables but mine only had 1 in the box. Thanks!
Ok, As is usually the problem, make sure you have the input selected that you want to record from, you can go into the menu, and choose either,,, (a particular channel to record from, or input 1 usually rear jacks, or input 2 usually the front set of jacks) now, when using the TV, switch it to video mode, if using anything other then the RF input (or tune it somewhere between the channels, for vid 1, vid 2, input 1, etc., it might even say "game") or put your DVDR on channel 3, and record the present channel showing on the cable, or Direct TV box.
