I just got the Sony DRU500AX and am running XP, P4 - 2.5G, 1G RAM. I have been reading the forums and have printed out many of the guides to help me get started.
One thing I need help on is the software to use. I see DVDXCOPY, DVD2ONE, Parissi, SmartRipper, DVDDecrypter and others. Can someone tell me which software is the best (and easiest to use since I am a big time newbie) for DVD to DVDR copies?

You will need DVDDecryptor for nearly any process.
If you like just the movie, I would recommend DVD2One.
If you want the menus and extras as well as the movie, then Pinnacle Instant Copy.
DVDxCopy will also do all menus and extras, and it won't decrease the quality of the movie, but it will usually split to two DVDr's.

Apparently CloneDVD is due for release in the next couple of weeks and although the title suggests an exact 1 for 1 copy it will decrypt and re-encrypt a movie to fit on one dvdr. Well worth waiting for if CloneCD is anything to go by!!!

You might want to use Pinnacle Instant Copy. But you got to get the newest version which is I believe V7.0.0.9.1. It's easier to use and it works. I put We were Soldiers on one DVD -R but with no extras my first try out.
