    Hi All,
I am relatively new to hardware modding (successfully installed an MM3 clone chip on PS1 SCPH-1001 a few weeks ago). I purchased a very early model PS-2 and a Modbo 5.0d boot chip from eBay. Based on the hardware board identification guides I have followed, I am pretty sure my PS2 mainboard is either a V1 or V2. I have read that that ModBo 4 and ModBo 5 boot chips are compatible with PS2 version 3 - 14.
Before I potentially damage my PS-2 mainboard, I was wondering if anyone has experience with getting a ModBo 5 to work with a PS2 v1 or v2 system board. Any comments or feedback is much appreciated.
