I have a brand new ipod, and I tried to turn it on this morning and it wouldn't work. I pressed all the buttons and took it off hold etc. Nothing worked. I tried to connect it to my laptop and it wasn't recognized through the USB. I eventually got it connected, and itunes came up saying that the ipod is corrupted and that I should restore it. I clicked restore, but nothing happened. So basically; my ipod won't turn on, won't connect to the computer, and is corrupted. What do I do???
I'm having a similar issue only mine won't turn on at all=( i hook it up to the computer but it doesn't even open itunes=( if any one can help please do )=
im having the same problem i got my 120gb ipod classic for xmas and use it a lot but this is the first time ive experienced this with any of my ipods the battery was dead so i tried to connect it to my laptop and nothing happens it doesn't get recognised at all by the computer and doesnt charge i cant get it to turn on at all and ive tried countless times to reset it does anyone have some advice that i can follow without taking my ipod for repair?
If they are new just take it back to apple, they will replace it with a new one, i had a similar problem with my touch, and they replace it. so best thing to do, take it back and exchange it for a new one. Gooc Luck
have anyone tried to reset it if im not mistaken its the middle button and the menu key you can try that i had a problem where mines stopped working and all i did was reset it songs were still there give it a try
I have the 106 classic and the same thing happened to me when my computer froze during a transfer. I had to down load the restore tool from the ipod site. It worked restoring through itunes but now even though there is content on the gadget, it shows up as nothing. I can access it and play but most of the functions to tell me what I have don't work.
