Help With A Nero 5 Burn Error

Recently, I've been having problem with my burns using my Nero 5 to copy music. I fire up the program and utilize the "wizard". It copies the CD alright and then asks for the blank media. I put in a new CD-R. It checks the CD and runs the SIMULATE fine. But, when it gets to the burn, it FAILS. Why? I have no idea. I using "Memorex CD-R, 700mb" CD's.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to "trouble shoot" the process to analyze the error? I don't see any kind of error number or anything. It just says the burn failed. HELP!

Have you tried defraging your hard drive or re-installing Nero?

 

Yep, complete defrag and complete scan disk

 

Does this happend with every disc, or just certain Memorex discs? What burner? Latest firmware?

 

It happens on every disk.

I'm using a Phillips CDRW400 burner.

Although I haven't done a firmware upgrade, I found it interesting that it worked not too long ago. I'll check and see if there's an upgrade available.

 

Try downloading the lastest version of Nero at www.nero.com

 

Try some other than Nero software to verify that it is just not some Nero bug.
