Ok, so I have a 60gb Video and a bunch of music on it. I also have a Kenwood deck in my car that has a USB cable. So, I was all excited that I could connect my iPod to the head unit and listen to all my music. Goodbye CD's, right? Close, but not quite.

My problem is that I can listen to all my music, BUT I can't listen to an album straight through cause the folders are have the music all mixed up. I went in through iTunes and noticed that there are folders but not with specific albums. The folders are random and the songs are as well. Folder names are like: F11, F12... and file names are like: WXCFD, UYTGH...

Is there a way to undo this so I can listen to an album straight through or at least look for tracks easier. Thanx in advance for any and all help.

you should be able to listen to tracks by going to Music ---> Albums & ensuring shuffle is disabled.

..... or am I missing something?

Music through JUST the iPod is flawless. What I'm referring to is going through tracks on my car stereo.

You can't use the click wheel when hooked up via USB. My stereo in my car will recognixe the tracks, but the filing system on the iPod randomizes the tracks in weird folders.

For example, instead of having all the tracks from Mudvayne's album LD 50 in one folder, the tracks are in random folders like F14, F15, F49, etc.

If you make the files viewable on your iPod while plugged in to your PC, you'll see the folders I speak of. From what I've read so far, that's the be all and end all of my problem. Apple made sure that's the only way you can use the music on the iPod. I even tried renaming one of the songs myself and it's there, but the iPod won't play it.

Yeah, i know what folders you mean.. this is the way apple organizes the media on the iPod.. to make it harder for people to share music and such at free will.

do you keep all your iTunes music in one root folder, and is it organized?

Yes and yes. Assuming I understand the question... LOL.

You mean, is all my music in the same folder and organized by artist and album so that iTunes can locate it easier? Then Yes and yes.

    yes, that's what i meant :)

the only suggestion i can make to you, is that you make a seperate folder on your iPod, then copy your music in from your iTunes music folder ~ it will be a waste of space, but will mean you can listen to albums in your car..

I've done that before and I still have to go through the other folders to get to the ones I want. So that means I have to go through double the folders and that gets tedious as well. That's why I started looking for other methods. But thnax for the suggestion.
