    I downgraded a HP DV6226us laptop from Vista to XP. I a working driver for everything except the audio. Does anybody know where I can find it? It has an Intel 945gm chipset, if that makes any difference. I already looked on HP's website but couldn't find one that would work.

    You MAY be able to use these links for the modem and audio driver

    Modem driver: SP33442.exe http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...os=228&lang=en

    Audio Driver: SP33443.exe

    It appears that according to HP you would need to install SoftPaq Number SP32646, "Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio," (or later) must be installed on the notebook before installing this SoftPaq. Look for SP32646 (or later) in the Software and Driver Downloads section of the www.hp.com website.

    SP32646 can be located here;

    ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000

    Apparently SP32646 would need to be installed before installing either the modem or audio driver.

    The modem and audio chip were originally installed in the Vista package but as you can see from the above links the versions are different for XP. The link below is for the Vista drivers.

    I would definitely cross check and read all the links and instructions carefully
