hey there. i am selling my current iphone on ebay. and it is a 2g and i am going to buy a new 3g one. I want to completely clear the whole phone for the new person that is buying it, what is the best way to do that? Also I want to backup all my phone numbers, music, data etc. What is the most efficant way to back everything up so i can transfer it onto my new 3g model? btw i am a mac user. Thanks
you need to do a restor with the 2g frist and when it say backup say yes after done do one restor but this time say no to backup and the phone will wipe out for the new guy now when you buy the 3G iphone plug in itunes do a restor no backup and when it start back up it will ask you start as new iphone or iphone backup pick iphone backup and your done i know this is long but this is what i did when i got my 3G iphone
yes but don't update unless the new software 2.1 bĂȘte has been jail broken which it come with iPhone 3G
You do have a problem because once youve backed up your iphone (right clicking on your iphone on the computer) you need to restore then once you restore your iphone, you will need to update onto a new firmwire and you will get less stuff to do on a 2.1 jailbroken iphone. Since there are less sources and apps made for the cydia and installer apps.
You should try this tool it will help you transfer all your ipod music to itunes or a pc and then you just need to sync the second ipod. its pretty cool because it copies all your songs, videos, podcasts, etc, without erasing what you already have both on itunes and your ipod. I've used for a year already and I really like it. Give it a try.
