I am having problems with burning dvd's. I am running WinXP SP2, Intel Cel 1.2 proc. I am trying to use DVD X Copy 4.0.3.8, or the latest versions of DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter. I have been able to burn in the past, but about two weeks ago all of a sudden I can't use anything. I don't receive any errors. The burn goes just fine, but when I put the disk into my Pioneer DVD player nothing happens. I also tried the same disk in my computer and it just froze the player up. My burner is a Liteon (farely new)16X. Any help would be appreciated.

    thank you,

You say you have successfully burned in the past, have you changed the brand of media?

i think we might need some more detailed info
what program are you using to burn with, how fast are you burning, what kind of media are you using, what's the model # of your burner.

    more info the better

    peace

I have been using Kypermedia 8X and I have been able to burn over 20 or 30 movies that I have. The drive is Liteon SOHW-1633S. I have used both DVD Shrink and Decrypter and have had no problems in the past. I have also used DVD X Copy Platinum 4.0.3.8 with no problems either. I have also tried re-installing the OS and also tried another hard drive that I had in another computer with no luck on either.

    help please,

Hey Boogie you are noth the only one . I have a liteon 1633s too . I can burn everything ok but when I put it in my standalone it won't play .It plays on my pc but not on my standalone player . I thought it was the media I was using so I went with verbatim 8x dvd+r and still the same problem . I think the rom is stit myself . I have had problem since I bought it . this is the second 1633s I got ..The first didn't even reconize disks so it went back to the company and they sent me a brand new one . Now I can't burn to watch them on my big screen ...

Are you able to play them on your computer? If so, can other people play them on there stand alone players?

    hello,
i know i sound like a broken record but maybe changing the booktype of dvd+r's to dvd-rom will help your backup's play better in standalones.

go here and use lite-on's booktype utility

    http://www.liteonit.com/ODD/English/e_downloads/e_utility.asp

    here is a guide

    www.liteonit.com/ODD/Zip/BookTypeManual_e.pdf

if you use decrypter to burn it also has a booktype feature for lite-on's
click on the book in the bottom right corner, click on lite-on tab, change for next write, then select dvd-rom,click change, hit ok and your done
