    Hi,

I am a novice to burning so any advice will be appreciated.

Right, I have downloaded a movie in avi format from the internet and it plays on my computer. I have a DVD RW computer drive and I brought blank DVD+RW to use.

Can anyone recommend the best (and free) program to convert the avi movie into DVD format and then burn the movie. I tried this once before with a DVD-R and it didnt work on my DVD player (Panasonic NV-VP30).

    pLEASE HELP :)

Try convert the avis into dvd compliant format with VSO DivxToDVD (free version), then burn with Nero.

Also check which type of discs (+/-) your dvd player can entertain.

Right,I've managed to convert the avi movie into a DVD format.

My movie is about 2 1/2 hours long...but the DVD+RW only records for 120 mins. It says at the back that it will record for 3 hours at long play?

Any idea how I can change the settings to long play?

DMXI, try not to multi-post similar questions. Its against forum rules. All you have to do now with those dvd compliant files is run them through DVD Shrink to fit the blank media.
