yea well im a big noob to this burning dvds n stuff. i downloaded charlie and the chocolate factory and got the audio ts and video ts folders but now when i go to nero express to burn it, it says that theres not enough space to burn this compilation onto this disc. then it says data to be written: 4,674MB space available on disc: 4,482MB but i have a DVD+R in the DVD+-R/RW drive? and it says its supposed to have like 8.5GB. im using Dynex double layer but i dont think the brand is the problem at this time. anyone have an idea?
I would recommend mastering the technique of compressing to a dvd5 first. They are a whole bunch cheaper, you can use dvd shrink which is free, and according to the info you provided not much compression would be required and you probably couldn't tell the backup from the original. You could probaly even lower the data to be written amount by removing unwanted audio streams and subtitles thus decreasing amount of compression required even more. Putting only 4674 mb on a DL disc is a waste of a lot of space IMO. Here are some guides for dvd shrink. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide2.html Mort
I have to agree with Mort81 on this the compression is very minimal but if you don't mind wasting a disk it is fine. However, IMO since this is a dl movie the quality is probably not that good putting it on a single layer would be a better idea. Read the guides that were provided they are excellent and will give you lots of info.
hi yes looking back its not worth it, use a dvdr5 data to be written: 4,674MB space available on disc: 4,482MB you wont notice anything there on compression
