I just bought this new light-on dvdrw SOHW-1673S writer, I am on a p4 2.5ghz with 512mb of ram. Every part on the computer has been bought new very recently. Now When I try to burn at 8x on Verbatim DvD+r rated for 8x my computer freezes up on me. Sometimes the disc is toast, sometimes it is still blank. I can get the burner to burn at 1x. Using dvd decrypter. Any help would be welcome thankyou.
i use pretty much the same system (writer and ram)sounds like,except 0nly 1.5ghz. I also use verbatim (as well as others) but -R, with few problems at times with certian media burning on 8x, so most i use 4x with no problems. Have you tried using dvd-r, all dvd players i have used play dvd-r but not all have played +r
