I just need advice on whether these LCD tvs are any good or if i should stay away from them. Basically if someone could single out all the best ones on this page (37' is the screen size i want). Also, how do i know what resolution the tv can get eg. 1080p and 1080i. I don't understand that subject at all so if someone could shed some light in a way that i can understand i would be grateful. Thanks.
LCD IMO ,Are pretty good. SD broadcast can be spotty depending on the channel. I have a HD Directv system and some SD channels look bad ,wile some look great. I have the 50in Sony E2000 ($1799.00) I have seen DLP and if you like sports, I have been told they are not sport friendly at all. 720p is the standard for HD with 1080P coming in to light now. 1080P will be the norm in a year or so and the price for a LCD / DLP 1080P will cost ya about $500-1000 more then a 720p/1080i set. BTW , I can not tell any difference between 720p & 1080i
go read my post to rich0331's question. If you don't plan on getting an HD-DVD or Blu-ray player, or a ps3, or hooking up your computer to the TV. Basically if it's strictly for TV watching then you have no need for a 1080p set yet. It will be years b4 they broadcast 1080p.
