HELP With Copying a Blockbuster dvd!?!?

    Can anyone help me out here, i recently just purchased a dvd burner and am wondering if i can copy blockbuster dvds. Obviously i know you CAN, but does blockbuster have a way to check and see if i copied and burned it? Like will i get in trouble and have to pay that fine of 250,00 dollars and 5-7 years in prison? also they have those white circular stickers around the middle of the dvd that just have a number and the store locatioin on it, is that a protective seal against burning it b/c ive heard rumors from people that those make the dvd not work after 48 from burning time, PLEASE HELP ME

    hi

    use dvd decrypter to rip to hard drive then use dvd shrink to compress it and burn with dvd decrypter burn engine...

    There is no difference between blockbuster DVD's and regular such as a movie you bought at circuit city. If is also possible hes asking this question because you can purchase blockbuster DVD's he might be asking for that reason. The sticker is just to identify which store you might have rented it from so you dont return it to the wrong store and they end up with too many copies of a particular movie. I also think its so you dont substitute another copy or different version of the same movie (i.e. region version or foreign)

    ...and take out the name Blockbuster for the same reason. If you were to be copying such a DVD it would be prudent to be vague about the disc's origin. Just mention the name of the movie; not condoning anything, it's just common sense

    Whats this chip i keep hearing about, how its in every blockbuster dvd and if you burn the dvd it sends over the internet to the fbi that you burned it and blockbuster can check to see if you burned it as well? Is it true or just phony?

    I actually work at a nearby blockbuster, and although that is highly illegal, there is no way to check and see if a disc has been copied, wouldn't post that out loud again if I were you lol.

    It's a mirco chip in the label, soak the label off before you burn, and stick it back afterwards.

    Unless you are asking about copying a purchased DVD from a rental store, why even ask a question like that here in this forum? Why bait anyone here into answering that question unless you have a motive to see if this site condones such a practice?

    Bottom line is that you cannot [bold]legally[/bold] copy any copy protected DVD unless you actually own the DVD and are doing so to protect your original investment from possible damage from misuse by children, etc.
