Okay, I received this projector as a gift. It only has vga outputs on it which is fine. My question is this...can i buy a vga male to rca (red blue and green), hook up my xbox 360 to it using the component cables, and get High Definition? Online it says the projector supports 1080i, which is good enough. Here is a link to the cable I want to buy. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._mri?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3ADD0VY2RAMB4&v=glance Here is a link of the specs of the projector http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/corporate/press/20050224cwd_1100mp.pdf Any help would be appreciated before I buy the vga to component when it wont help out.
No, you can't. VGA and component video are two different formats. 1. The projector doesn't have outputs. Do you mean VGA input? 2. You need a converter to convert from progressive scan. Something like this: http://www.beachaudio.com/Startech-...um=cpc&utm_campaign=vid2vgatv&utm_content=atr
yeah vga inputs...my bad. Well why does it say it can run at 1080i if it can not though? "false advertisement"
It's NOT "false advertising". VGA and YPBr are physical input specifications. 1080i and 720p are signal specifications. You are confusing and mixing the two. 1080i is supported if you provide the signal on the correct physical input interface, which is VGA.
