I had comcast Digital cable in the past and had Tivo hooked up to it no problem. Basically all I had before was where the cable comes out of the wall I split it and sent one to the Tivo one to the cable box and that was that. Now I got Direct TV and when the installer hooked it all up he left the Tivos just setting there not connected to anything. Now I am not an expert in the field but I am far from a noob either. I can not find any possible way to connect Tivo to the Direct TV boxes. Direct TV tech support is terrible and customer support doesnt care that the installed disconnected what previously worked and made no attempt to reconnect it. Some help would be great.
Are your TiVos standalone units? I'm not too familiar with those type, I mainly dealt with the older Hughes/DirecTv R10 model TiVos, the reciever and TiVo in one box. I don't think they can be hooked up to the newer DirecTv recievers as the recievers themselves lack a required port on the back that the standalones use. Then again if your TiVo has a coax in/out try hooking it up like a VCR. Sorry I can't be more help I haven't seen too many standalone units in the field, and since DirecTv and TiVo parted ways, it's hard to tell.
