    Hello and thanks in advance.
1st. time poster , and have been reading some of these forums for tips , advice , etc.
I have been having problems with dvd buring , both data and video. I have tried to follow the advice and directions of others problems with nero with no success. I have uninstalled and reinstalled , used the nero cleaning tools as recently as Friday evening , and still no luck. This problem just started recently. Before that I was burning away with 0 errors. I'm pretty sure I have the lasted firmware for my burner. I use an HPdvd740e burner and it works just fine with audio and data cd's , but just won't work with dvd's.
I appreciate all the help offered around here.

    Hi bucky10

    Here's a few suggestions.
    Device not available
Try disconnecting it from the pc and power. Reboot pc and reconnect.
Close any unneeded programs when burning.

    WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=?.?.?.?,
Check Nero InfoTool>Aspi tab. Make sure it just shows the Nero ASPI as okay.

    File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS'
Nero and Roxio don't always play well so you can uninstall Roxio and run the Zap Tool.

Still failing - then try a good free burn program like ImgBurn.
For data and video you would add the files using build mode to burn.

    Keep us posted.

Thanks binkie7 , I appreciate all of your help. I tried every recommendation you suggested. Unfortunately none of them worked. I'm starting to think the burner is in need of a replacement. At least earlier the dvd burn would stall out about 75% done. Now it just won't even start. It stays at 1% and doesn't progress.
    Thanks again.

    You're welcome bucky10

Yep it could be going. Last thing to try is another pc - since it's an external much easier to hook up to another pc.

Give that a go and let us know.
