help with error code

I have not used DVD in a Long time but I use to like it alot.
I am trying to make a back up copy of a DVD and keep getting the error:
"Cyclic Redundancy Check failed to read DVD" It stops at 20% each time I try it -- any ideas. Is there a new update to this software?

There hasn't been an update for a long time.
Use DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip the disk before shrinking with DVD shrink.
The ripping part is free - the other features are trialware.
