I need some help with my samsung 32 inch with hd tuner. the model is lns3251d. I heard that u can get the local hd channel's signal with the built in hd tuner. I've tried a number of ways to do so but none has worked. any suggestions anyone?
i c... but my friend is in the same situation i am in and he has some of the hd channels.. he doesnt use the antenna or any special boxes
What service does your friend have? It sounds like they have standard cable service. It is possible to receive DTV local channels and some 24 hour HDTV networks for free. In my area TWC passed most of my locals and TNT-HD and Discovery HD theater for free (un-encrypted). All you need is a clear-QAM tuner built-in. I don't think the Samsung TVs have QAM tuners built-in. What TV does your friend have? Ced
From what I see the Olevia 232V has no QAM tunning abilities. But maybe your cable company is different and uses ATSC over the cable line instead of or along with QAM. In any case. 1) Find out what cable service your friend has. 2) Run a channel search on your TV. First set it to look for cable channels. If that doesn't work set it for antenna channels. If all else fails you should erect an indoor or outdoor antenna or buy the same TV your friend has or its better from the same company A partial list of tv makers that incorporate QAM tuners in to all their DTV/HDTV built-in tv sets: Sharp Toshiba Philips / Magnaovx Hitachi Sony (doens't put QAM into their Tube tvs anymore) Any tv with a [bold]Cable Card[/bold] slot! Hope this helps, Ced
