I had an acct here b4 but i forgot what it was and i was advised to buy a X2 Duo modchip B'cuz my XboX got dropped on the floor and the original HDD got shattered inside so I bought an X2 Duo modchip and i=I installed it I dont know if it is functioning or what can someone please point me in the right direction ThanX TIA~PhiLiP
First do you have the white cromwell version or the blue gs version? If it's working properly you should see a blinking red light on the chip when you power on. When you start the console with the power button you should see an xbox flubber screen and depending on which version xbox you have and which bank you have your switch set to you should see a blue x and it will read xecuter2 or a green x with a redish guitar pick looking symbol that says evox. After you confirm that these things are working then you should use and AID or Slayers disk to get your new hdd setup with a dash, apps and backup eeprom, etc. Here is a link for the AID disk. aidtracker.com
I have white cromwell edition sir Yes it does have a red flashing led but the boot screen is the same green xbox symbol to fuitar pick or blue X
Okay it's been awhile since I've installed the white one but they should come with cromwell bios so you won't get the blue xecuter 2 or the evox flubber screen. What you should do is use an aid or slayers disk and flash the chip bios depending on which version xbox you have. It might take 10 seconds or so to boot the disk up just be patient with it. If you have a 1.1 to 1.5 I think the latest is xecuter2 5035 137gb+ or if you have a 1.6 it's evox1.6 137gb+. Either way you need the 512mb versions.
512 mb or Kb Sir?, Maybe the bios on my cromwell is not flashed with anything because it comes up with the microsoft GREEN X but the actual chip is flashing red i have a old x box version not 1.6 can you give me the link to the bios i should use and the installer disc the LITE version please bec. i'm not sure what to dl please post the direct links to the files ThanX appreciated it allot TIA~PhiLiP
Go to aidtracker.com Get the torrent for the aid disk. download the and burn the .iso. Put it in you box and it should load up. There's a bios flashing menu under the tools tab if I remember correctly.

I havent booted up my xbox for a couple of months when i boot it up to try the AID disc It is only a black screen and the xbox has an orange led on the front solid then it reboots how to fix?

I would assume that it might not be soldered correctly. You said you had an old xbox but not a 1.6. But each xbox is a little different when it comes to installing the chip. If I remember correctly I think that if the chip works and is installed properly it should boot up to a blue screen with white text that reads cromwell.
Mine is not V1.1 because it has no fan and it is not 1.6 beacause it is about 2yrs old The searches brought up nothing on solid orange only blinking orange but mine is definetly solid

I'm pretty sure its v 1.2 its serial # is 6129494 33605 manufacturing date 2003-09-03 how can i make sure it is the halo special edition but my xbox is not translucent
I'm a little baffled here since when I looked up your serial number it should have been made on line 6 the year of 2003 and week 36 which should be the time that they were making 1.4 version xbox's. Can you see the words on the chips where the guide says to look and let me know what they are? Thanks
The install for the 1.2 and 1.3 is the same according too the website so check and make sur you have it installed correctly. http://www.duomodchip.com/english/main.htm It also says you should use a eurasia generic pro flash disk. http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?op=modload&name=Forums&file=viewtopic&topic=2751&forum=73 I've been installing the blue ones now for awhile and forgot about having to make one of these to flash the bios. D'oh! Biggest thing is to make sure it's 512mb.
I'm pretty sure the chip is installed properly bec it is flashing red But the ring led on the front of the xbox is solid orange still how to fix T_T
Flashing red just means that you have the power and ground connected properly. I've had my d0 point not connected and it would still flash so it wouldn't hurt to check. Just a crazy thought here but maybe it's orange because there's no hdd with the dash files or eeprom etc. Do you have a new hdd installed? I would make the eurasia disk and flash the bios of the chip and then use the aid disk to install the new dash and the ms dash etc.
It currently has NO HDD installed still planning where to get one but that didn't stop it from booting up before w/ no HDD about half a year ago i booted it up w/ no HDD micro$0ft dash but frooze after green x
You were right my D0 point was completely diffrent it wasn't soldered to the little point it was soldered to the lpc area dont know why... I'll try to resolder it to the propper place it is so small though tnax please reply
