Help with image for Dreambox 500T in Kilkenny

Hi there, i have just got my Dreambox 500T and am trying to set it up in Kilkenny on ch*rus MMDS. I successfully flashed the DW 1.6 image and went into automatic scan but it finds lots of transponders or lists of areas from around the world but none for Ireland! I see from a lot of the posts that I should do a Bruteforce scan but I don't know how to do this cos I am a complete newbie and need all the help I can find!! I tried a manual scan using some settings that I got from another post but this didn't work either.
PLEASE HELP - I AM LOSING SLEEP!
Another question - I think my problem may be the image I used. Should I use DW 2.0 and is there one specific to the 500T or to Ireland? Where can I get this?

Go to manual scan. Type 506000 for the frequency, select 64qam for qam and bandwidth 8mhz.Let all other option at auto. Enable network search, ONIT and BAT and start the scan.

 

Hiya, I uploaded a different image in the meantime which I thought was a DW 2.0 but was in fact a corrupt DW 1.6. Should I re-flash the box with the original DW 1.6 and then follow your steps or should I look for another image suitable for the 500 T first? Thanks for your help!!

 

There is nothing special needed for Ireland beside the terrestrial.xml for scanning.
The dw2.0 image should have an irish terrestrial.xml on board but you can do an manual scan for any other image.

 

OK, I am reinstating the uncorrupted DW 1.6 and I will try your manual scan settings and let you know in a minute!! You say though to use frequency 506000 but our Chorus box shows frequency of 570000. Does this matter? I will try your frequency first. Also, where is the best place to get a DW 2.0 image if your settings for manual scan are unsuccessful?

 

Hi again mgb, that manual scan didn't work. I put in all the settings you said (very carefully!) and pressed start scan but it just got a load of zeros. At the end it said "1 transponder found with 0 services". Any suggestions?

 

Try the same with 570000 if you get that frequency from your chorus box.

 

Tried this but no joy... Am flashing DW 2.0 image now to see if that works. Keep hearing about Gemini image? Would this work? Thanks for your continued patience!

 

Latest update - I flashed over DW2.0 from techno-source and it had Chorus MMDS.ie in its list, ran an autoscan but it didn't find anything. Then I ran a manual scan using freq=570000 from the Chorus box but used the rest of your settings. It found 2 transponders 12 channels/services incl. radio. Please help! Thank you!

 

Try 522000 and tick additonal inversion. If you get nothing untick inversion.

 

Good news! I did another manual scan on 570,000 after I had let the Dreambox settle on a channel. On this scan it picked up 64 channels which incuded all the Sky channels! So I am delighted.
Mgb - it this about the right amount of channels I should be getting on Chorus MMDS? Your help is invaluable on this forum!
Also, if I scan now on another frequency, do we get to "keep" our current channels as well as possibly getting new ones? It is just that some of the channels that we get through Chorus such as Bravo etc. didn't come up on the Dreambox scan on 570,000..

Kilkenny is something special.
The posted frequencies are not valid for mmds aerials.

 

Last update... I scanned on 522,000 with the Inversion box ticked ang got all remaining channels and perfect reception!!! Thanks Mgb.
