help with installing software on kryptview using windows 7

    hi newbie here im tryin to install the software for the a780 ive downloaded both files from e45 installed the loader fine no probz but when all connected and try to upload the software i get a error message "cant open serial portcom1" ive tried changing the baudrate to 115.200 but still no joy can any1 pleassssssse help me im going out ma head here thanks in adavance

    what pc are you using xp is the prefered one

    did you ever flash a box before with this pc before

    where did you get the cables from your using

    no im using a laptop with windows 7 and im using a usb adaptor to connect to the box and no ive never used laptop to flash as i had starview 5 before this and as u know u can flash it with the usb port....i got my adaptor from cpc....can this been done using windows 7?

    hi there got it to work on windows 7 all i had to do was change the prolific device to com1...but then i had problem uploading again but easy fix all u have to do is turn box off hit start on the loader and then QUICKLY press power bk on then download starts...simples
    if any 1 needs any help doing this pm me and ill be glad to help...i no how frusting this can be.

    Glad you got it sorted once your comports are set up correctly you wont have any problems with flashing the box once you follow the tutorials

    But i do suggest to people flashing box to use XP its the fastest and easiest to do

    agreed i have windows 7 downstairs on my pc and have another pc in kids bedroom with xp on it. I didnt even try the flash on this pc (win 7) did it upstairs as xp is the good old faithful and (well i didnt) no need to configure ports. so if people do have the option of flashing with xp even if its taking it to your mates then go for that especially if on vista lol
