I got the connectivity kit. I extracted the key and what not with jungleflasher 0.1.65 and spoofed my firmware. then I did liteon erase. I gave me all the info I needed but when I tried to write it said drive in vendor mode and wouldn't do it. Now my drive can't be detected in dosflash or jungleflasher. the drive doesn't eject. I get an error message like

    Drive returned Status 0x7F.
    Vendor: No drive detected!

I keep erasing and power cycling but I get the same thing. one time I got 0x80. I thought that would write but it said drive returned invalid status.

I don't know what to do. I have flashed 2 benqs with no problem this is just a major pain.

I have a via chipset. I tried it with the drivers uninstalled and installed. I have porti/o installed. I tried l-o-eras in dos and that doesn't work either.

I also tried a manual write in dosflash using
    dosflash w e000 1 a0 2 0 4 c:\lite_cfw.bin 0
    no luck

Any help you can give me I would really apreciate. I tried to give as much info as possible and I tried searching for 2 days around the net. I tried robinhoodsplayground fix for frozen liteon but it won't work because the drive isn't detected.

Hmm are you doing this through a VIA card? Its recommended you remove the VIA drivers for that before you try and flash a liteon with it.

Maybe try a different SATA port and double check in the Device Manager to confirm the VIA driver is uninstalled.

Yeah, 0x7F is not a good status. If it says the same thing in DosFlash, the drive is dead. Did you happen to burn up anything while you tried to get the key?

No nothing seemed like it fried. everything was going exactly like the tutorial said it would. Some times i get 0x80 status. That will really suck if it is fried. I am going to try some more. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know. Thank you to all that have responded.

Try booting to USB drive and trying LO Erase.

Thank you for all the posts after alot of trial and error I was able to get it. I used the robinhoodsplaygroung method again and was able to get it.
In dos flash I used l-o-eras.exe (port #) and got fx80.
after doning it again I got fx72. I dont know why it worked this time but it did.
Then I powered off ran dosflash
sent mkvendor stuff and the drive was recognised.
Then I did liteon e and erased drive.
    powered off
ran dosflash again and said n to resend vendor
now my drive is recognised on my sata port
now I chose W to write new firmware that I spoofed in jungle flasher and there you have it.

Again, thank you for all your time people.

I know this is an old post, but i just had the same issue and it was simply my fault. It's all to do with the powercycle. You need to power it off and then on as quick as you can and click 'Lite-on Erase'. It should then give you the 72. After that I had an issue with it not showing Flash chip properties. This was remedied by clicking 'Intro/Device ID' and powercycling again (It actually tells you to do it). Hope this helps some other poor soul!

    ;)
