Hello long time i havn't been here. Ty for helping me. Well about 6 months ago my Xbox MB fryed. I had a version 1.2 xbox with a X2.2pro. I'm sure the chip is still good. So with school coming to a close, I can start playing on Xbox live again. I'm going to get a another xbox soon. I'm good with a solder iron and have no problem installing the chip again. Well my problem is that I had a 120 gig HDD on my old xbox. I locked it so i could play on xbox Live. I want to know if i can still use that HDD with the new xbox i'm about to get. Is there a way i can unlock it agian to work with my new one? Or should i just throw it away? Is there hope for me in away i can save the HDD to work with the new on? Thats about it for now Ty for you help.

I believe you can just install it after putting in the modchip and flashing the bios. Just swap it out and all your apps and games that are on the HD should be there. Can anyone confirm??

I did some research on a box I had laying around. I stuck a modchip in (bios already flashed) replaced the hdd with a 200gig working one from another box and booted up. Works like a charm.

    Hi

A large Hdd can almost be simply plug and play.

I personally use x4 300gig maxtors for all my software

Plug in the new hdd with a modded xbox and run your chosen installer disc "I have my own installer disc i use for customer installs" on the hdd after installing your chosen dash your done.

    Regards
