ok i wanna back up matrix reloaded which is 6.68gb .. but i want it on 1 dvd-r.. using dvdshrink can it be done without loosing too much of the quality? I really want a copy with menus and all but im guessing that is impossible without splitting it to 2 dvd-r.. any help would be splended.

Yes DVDshrink will work. I backed my copy up with little to no loss in quality.

I read mafiozy_1's post and shook my head. InterVideo DVDCopy is not free, and it will not rip css encrypted dvd's.

Forumcrew, you can backup the entire matrix reloaded disk using DVD Shrink (free) to rip and compress. It should still be really good quality.

I recently did a backup of the movie only. I fully expected it to look kinda choppy since it's such a long movie....but was shocked to see (like Matt mentioned) that the compressed version was excellent. Even on a 3 hour movie like Lord of the Rings, the picture quality is unbelievable. I sound like a commercial don't I?

All you have to do is set it to either rip the whole DVD, or just the parts you desire.

Any 2 hour movie with a single audio track, if you strip out the extras will fit on a 4.7GB DVD-R. Personally I can't see the point in backing up the extras and menus if you have the original DVD in the first place.

The reference to eDOnkey : There is no 'they' they are not a company, the software is not free, but pirated, cracked and illegally distributed. I urge all our users to not break the law by downloading such pirated material.

    Capisca mafiosi?

I am sorry, but I am having a little difficulty understanding you.

For the record : DVDshrink copies the entire DVD, menus, extras included all sound channels and subs, but compresses the video to make it fit on a 4.7GB DVD. This is also customisable, so that you can remove menus if you wish to allow more space for the main movie.

For the record : eDonkey is not used for the legitimate distribution of software whether cracked or demo versions. It is a p2p application, primarily used for the illegal sharing of cracked software and pirated material, sorry if that ruffles feathers, but it is a fact. Some people use it for legitimate file distribution, but lets be frank, not many.

    Paul.

Yeah, I agree with that. mafiozy_1 be a bit more eligible in your writing please as it becomes hard to understand what you are saying. From what i gather you are trying to say DVD Shrink does not have the facility to copy a full movie with all the bits and bobs left in?? I beg to differ, as does Loaded and anyone who has used this program. It will indeed do all the compression needed for a DVD.

Yea while I was encoding my black hawk down dvd to my computer with dvd shrink I saw that it added in the menus and even added extras like movie trailers. I just compressed some of the movie and got rid of the different languages and language subtitles. It all worked out. And the movie was around 6 gb. Now all I have to do is wait till I get my dvd burner and burn to a dvdr with Nero. DVd shrink is real easy!

Yeah, dvd shrink removes all protections. All you need is dvd shrink and a burning program like nero.

There are a few issues with ripping discs that are from another region and remove the enhanced region protection with DVD Shrink. Vist the DVD SHrink forum for more information over at dvdrdigest
