Wow you are screwed! You don't have backups of programs, drivers, OS, nothing? I'd try to update my Anti-virus, run some kind of anti-spyware, and get TuneUp Utilities 2006 or something like that. That way maybe you could fix whatever is happening to your PC.

If your PC is really Screwed Up and you have at least the OS disc, I'd would do a clean isntall (format the drive, etc). Programs you can download again (you should have the serials...). The problem might be Dirvers. Most of them can be downloaded online from manufacturer web sites if devices are from well-known manufacturers and are not so old.

PS Before you do anything drastic...have you tried windows own restore?

Yes... My thoughts exactly. As hermes_vb said you could try system restore.

Open up Control Panel/Performance and Maintenence... Then there should be a link in the upper left window called "system restore".

What this utility does is take your PC back to a former state. When you open up this application it will open up a calender and ask you which date you want to restore your PC back to (provided you haven't deleted the system restore files through the hard drive clean up utility).
