    Hello,
I am new to the dvd backups arena and still trying to get used to each of the software programs (dvd decryptor and dvd shrink). I think I am getting the hang of the "ripping" process. My question has to do with Nero and is probably more a technical question. Sorry in advance if it is a lame question or one that has been asked before. My question is I am burning with a NEC ND-3540a and it states that I can burn TDK 8x dvd-r discs at 16x speed. How do I get Nero 6.6.0.8 to burn it at 16x speed? It only let me burn at 8x. Can I override Nero's settings and if so how?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

Many people have reported problems burning dvds beyond 4x. Certain programs (e.g. Nero) would check your system and discs to suggest the highest burning speed. It's good advice not to go over.

most people recommend 4x max for video. higher speeds may be ok for data but video, stick to 4x, a full disc only takes 15mins tops at 4x
